BRINGING THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE TO LIFE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME
Bethesda asked us to bring The Elder Scrolls Online into the real world, literally, with the game’s first ever live-action film, for the global “You Belong Here” campaign.

Our Thinking
For players who thought they’d missed the boat, or weren’t sure fantasy was their bag, we positioned The Elder Scrolls Online as an adventure with no barrier to entry. Start when you’re ready. Play it your way.

Casting & wardrobe
We cast four everyday people and showed them transform into their ESO selves: a commuter into a warden, a footballer into a cave-clashing warrior, a barista into a dark arcanist and an office worker into a dragon-dodging adventurer.

Production
Utilising cutting-edge virtual production techniques, the shoot seamlessly blended real environments with immersive CG.
Sets were built, props were made and digital environments, straight out of the game, were cast to the 20ft virtual production screens. Shot in glorious 8k, the results were stunning.

Channels & Reach
The campaign ran globally across digital and social platforms, localised into 12 languages, including VO, with region-specific edits for ratings and cultural nuance.
We versioned them all in-house to ensure quality and speed was optimal for final delivery.

this is one of those old school video game ads that you’d see on TV, banger trailer
This is awesome! Love the game! I wish there was a series based off this game. This ad is exactly how I would make it. People from earth being transported to Tamriel, especially during the ESO timeline. That would be so incredibly cool!
honestly… elders scrolls either need to make movies, cartoon/anime or a series. you will attract more people to the franchise with the amazing lore etc and would be amazing to watch :3
I usually dislike game ads that try to put players into the game world (seems cheesy to me IMO) but I gotta admit, this was well done. I like it.
